
Founding principles
At Rebel Wellness we have a few principles that help explain the way we think. We look outside the box when it comes to healing the body. The first principle stems from the basis of all disease: inflammation. Inflammation comes in 3 forms - traumas, toxins, and thoughts. We like to call it the 3 T's. Is there a physical/structural trauma that needs addressed? Is there a toxin to the body in the form of food, mold or bacterial overgrowths that are throwing off the body and causing inflammation? Or the last T, and maybe the most difficult one to control, thoughts. Are you chronically or acutely stressed? How is that creating inflammation in the body? When we work to locate and remove whatever trigger you have, the body can heal. ​
The next principle is the fireman vs. the carpenter. When we look at healthcare today, we see regular doctors and practitioners as firemen. When you come in with a problem they are trained to give you a medication to fix that problem. But do they look at why that problem is there in the first place? That is where we excel, as carpenters. We dig a bit deeper to find out where the inflammation is and where it is coming from. Then we work together to tackle and reduce that inflammation. Reduction in inflammation=reduction in disease and illness.
My Story
Hi all! I am Kerrie Peterson, a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors in Nursing, turned restorative health coach. After being in the traditional healthcare system for over 15 years it became clear to me that this wasn't the avenue I felt helped people the most. I saw people getting "bandaids" to their health challenges instead of uncovering why they were there in the first place. I have trained with a network of health clinics that have proven to solve the health challenges that others cannot. How do we do that, you ask? We don't guess, we test. I treat every client as an individual. Based off of their own life experiences - mental, social, emotional health in combination with their own lab work, we work together to formulate a plan to wellness. I want to be the tour guide to individuals while they are on their health and wellness journey. It is just that, a journey, a marathon, no quick fixes here, just basic biochemistry and physiology and putting together how the body works. The body is incredible and always longing for protection and survival. Maybe some of the challenges you are facing are your body's way of saying "Hey, we need some help here!" I am here to help uncover and dissect each individuals troubles. Through thorough intake forms, and testing, the client and I will come up with a plan moving forward. I can't wait to help you on your journey to health.
